Boca Junior’s star striker sees the light at the end of the tunnel after being out injured since November.
The idea is that Darío Benedetto could be available again in May, but taking into account that there will be no action for that date since the season will be over, everything indicates that his first game could be in August, just after the World Cup.
Benedetto was operated in December after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament two weeks prior. He had a successful operation and his recovery has been positive overall.
“On 1 December, Darío Benedetto underwent successful surgery for the rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament and external meniscus of the right knee,” Boca Juniors reported through their official social networks after the operation was carried out by Dr. Jorge Batista, deputy director for Boca’s medical team.
After the post-operation period, the striker has steadily increased his intensity in physical therapy.
Benedetto has become a superstar at Boca since arriving in July 2016 from Club América for €4.4m. The 27-year-old has scored 29 goals and added 7 assists in 34 Primera División matches.
