Sandro Wagner is named on the bench for Bayern Munich as they return to Bundesliga action against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday evening.
The new signing was expected to play in place of the injured Robert Lewandowski but Jupp Heynckes has opted to play Thomas Müller up front instead.
Müller is flanked by Arjen Robben and Frank Ribéry, while James Rodríguez will operate in the number ten role.
Arturo Vidal plays with Javi Martínez in a powerful midfield.
Joshua Kimmich is not healthy enough to start but does take a place on the bench. The 22-year-old has been battling illness and Rafinha deputises in his place.
Sven Ulreich, who’s been in terrific form standing in for Manuel Neuer, is in goal.
Bayern have struggled in Leverkusen in recent seasons and despite the 13-point gap between the sides in the Bundesliga table, a victory is by no means guaranteed.
The Bavarians have failed to score in their last four Bundesliga visits to the BayArena and have not won there since Jupp Heynckes’s last stint at the club.
