Bayern Munich are reportedly stepping up their interest in Benjamin Pavard.
The 22-year-old was a standout performer for Stuttgart last season and has since impressed for France at the World Cup.
According to SportBild, with the futures of Jérôme Boateng and Rafinha in doubt, Pavard is seen as the perfect replacement.
“We’ve had enquiries from some of Europe’s top clubs,” admitted Stuttgart’s sporting director, Michael Reschke. “But we don’t want to sell him this summer, not even for €50m. We want to keep him.”
However, Reschke noted that Pavard’s contract expires on 1 July 2019, and made it clear the club will listen to offers at that point. “We are interested in the idea of finding a quick solution with one of the interested clubs.”
The Frenchman joined Stuttgart from Lille in the summer of 2016 and has since completed 57 games for the Bundesliga club.
