With the football on hold at the moment, we’ve been thinking about who gets in Bayern Munich’s all-time XI.

Yesterday we chose our first forward. Today we’re choosing the second.

Here are the nominees

3rd – Roland Wohlfarth

Wohlfarth sits fourth in Bayern Munich’s all-time top goalscorers list after hitting 155 goals during his nine-year stay at the club.

The striker arrived from MSV Duisburg in 1984 and helped Bayern win five league titles in six years between then and 1990.

He left for €1.13m to St.Etienne in 1993 but has his name in the club record books, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Gerd MĂŒller and Robert Lewandowski.

2nd – Franck RibĂ©ry

If there was a predictability about what Arjen Robben was going to do on the ball, the complete opposite could be said about Franck Ribéry.

The Frenchman is an unpredictable and highly-talented footballer who was one of the best players in the world at his peak.

Bayern signed RibĂ©ry for a then club record fee of €25m from Marseille in 2007, and he was worth every penny.

RibĂ©ry scored 124 times and laid on 192 assists in his 425 games for Bayern, and came so close to winning the Ballon d’Or in 2013 – when he finished third.

A trophy cabinet fitting to the player, with nine Bundesliga titles, six DFB-Pokals and one Champions League title taking pride and place.

And the winner is
 Gerd MĂŒller

One of the greatest strikers to ever play the game.

A lethal finisher who had the measly return of 515 goals in 576 appearances for Bayern Munich which are just ridiculous numbers. He is ahead of second-placed Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in the club’s all-time goalscorers list by an astonishing 348 goals.

MĂŒller also bagged 68 in 62 caps for his country.

He joined the club in 1964 and represented Bayern for 15 seasons, with his lowest season goal return of 15 coming in 1965-66. This was a man who redefined what it meant to be a clinical forward.

Muller’s stunning heroics earned four league titles, four DFB-Pokals and three European Cups for Bayern Munich.

Here’s how the team is looking so far

GK: Oliver Kahn RB: Philipp Lahm LB: David Alaba CB: Klaus Augenthaler CB: Franz Beckenbauer CM: Lothar MatthĂ€us CM: Stefan Effenberg CM: Bastian Schweinsteiger FW: Arjen Robben FW: Gerd MĂŒller
