Woo-Yeong Jeong has been one of Bayern Munich’s most exciting young prospects and it appears he’s close to getting the first-team experience he desires.
According to Sky Sports journalist Torben Hoffman, the South Korean could complete his medical at Freiburg this week.
Though the move will likely be a loan, it’s reported that Freiburg want a permanent move and Bayern would only agree to do so if the deal included a buyback option.
The 19-year-old was a shining star in the reserves, scoring 13 goals and adding six assists in 29 Regionalliga contests.
The former Incheon United product, brought into the Bayern squad in January 2018, made his Bundesliga and Champions League debuts this past season.
On Tuesday, Hamburg confirmed that talented young Bayern midfielder Adrian Fein joined the club on a one-year loan. He spent all of last season at 2. Bundesliga side Jahn Regensburg.
