Bayern Munich will not take up their option to sign Philippe Coutinho this summer, leaving the Brazilian in limbo.

Coutinho joined the Bavarian side on loan from Barcelona in the summer, with the deal including an option to buy for €120m.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed a relatively impressive first six months at the Allianz Arena, netting seven goals in 21 appearances.

But according to Bild the reigning Bundesliga champions have decided that they will not take up their option to sign the playmaker.

Despite his popularity at the club and a few stellar performances, Bayern believe that €120m is simply too much to pay for Coutinho and will instead allow him to go back to Barça.
