Bayern Munich will reportedly decide to push back the signing of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner this summer.
Werner – who has one year left on his current deal – was expected to join the Bundesliga champions as competition for Robert Lewandowski.
But according to BILD, Bayern have been ‘put off’ by Leipzig’s excessive asking price and will simply wait to sign him for free next year.
The arrival of Julian Nagelsmann could convince the 23-year-old to extend his contract, while adding a Bayern-specific release clause.
But a renewal seems unlikely with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Uli Hoeness confirming a mutual interest between club and player.
Werner scored 16 goals in 30 Bundesliga appearances last season.
