Bayern Munich are looking at the possibility of bringing Harry Kane and Mauricio Pochettino to the club next season, according to one report.
With Robert Lewandowski’s future looking increasingly likely to be away from the Allianz Arena, Bayern are on the hunt for a new centre forward.
Numerous stories have emerged in recent months that the Poland international will leave the Bundesliga champions this summer, and is hoping to force through a move to Real Madrid.
As such, the Bavarians have drawn up a shortlist of potential replacements, and Spanish sports daily Marca has claimed that the England international is at the top of that list alongside RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner.
How a Spanish sports paper knows what’s happening in Bayern’s boardroom is as yet unclear.
But nevertheless, they report that although persuading Kane to come to Germany won’t be easy, they’re hoping to ease any reservations he may have by also targeting his current manager Mauricio Pochettino as well.
Yes, really.
Jupp Heynckes is definitely set to depart the club in the summer, and according to the Madrid-based paper the hierarchy at Bayern see Pochettino as one of the best tacticians in the game.
Although a double swoop looks almost impossible, Marca believe that the Bundesliga champions are currently looking into the possibility of making it happen before the World Cup.
Let’s wait and see.
