With legendary wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry pencilled in to leave, and James Rodríguez unlikely to remain, new attacking talent will have to be brought to the Allianz Arena.

According to SportBILD journalist Raimund Hinko, the reigning Bundesliga champions will target Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.

The young German duo, 22 and 19 respectively, are widely considered the future of the national team.

Werner will have just one year remaining on his RB Leipzig contract at the end of the season, which should make an agreement easy to reach.

The striker has enjoyed a strong season so far, scoring 13 times in all competitions.

Things will be trickier with Havertz, who is under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2022.

Still a teenager, Havertz has earned his first Germany caps this season, a reward for his fine form at club level.

An attacking midfielder, Havertz has scored six times in the Bundesliga this season, as well as netting three goals in four Europa League appearances.

Should Bayern sign the pair, it would underline the club’s plans to inject a more German feel into the current playing squad.
