Jérôme Boateng is racing to be fit for Bayern Munich’s Champions League clash with Tottenham on Wednesday.
The German defender suffered a calf problem at the weekend, an injury that went on to hurt the reigning Bundesliga champions.
Replacement Javi Martínez was sent off and conceded a late penalty as Bayern fell to a 2-1 defeat to league leaders Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Bayern are now hoping Boateng will be fit in time for Wednesday’s game.
The issue is not thought to be too serious, with Sport Bild reporting the centre-back is expected to feature in midweek.
With Niklas Süle and Lucas Hernandez already sidelined, the last thing Bayern need is another defender out of action.
