Bayern Munich nearly bought Thomas Lemar 18 months ago but Atlético Madrid beat them to the punch by shelling out €70m for the World Cup-winning winger.
However, Lemar has yet to find even close to the same form he had over at Monaco and now the 24-year-old could be on the verge of an exit.
With Euro 2020 coming up, Lemar could be looking for a move as he wants to showcase his skills to Didier Deschamps and earn a place on France’s 23-man roster.
According to France Football, Bayern are looking to bring in Lemar. However, they have baulked at Atlético’s €60m price tag and are willing to wait to force the Spaniards to lower their asking price.
Bayern are reportedly worried about the long-term health of oft-injured Kingsley Coman and believe Serge Gnabry lacks consistently, while Leroy Sané is still extremely far away from being a done deal.
In 64 games with Atlético, Lemar has only contributed three goals and six assists.
