James Rodriguez was one of five Bayern players who did not appear at an open training session on Tuesday.

The Colombia international came off the bench to play the final twelve minutes of Friday’s victory over Hoffenheim and was given the day off by coach Niko Kovac, the club confirmed on social media.

Franck Ribéry and Corentin Tolisso were also absent while it is claimed Serge Gnabry trained alone in the club’s performance centre.

In more encouraging news, Arjen Robben, who has not played since November due to a thigh injury, joined his team-mates for the final part of the session.

With 300 supporters watching on, Bayern were well wrapped up whilst gearing up for Sunday’s Bundesliga clash against Stuttgart as they look to close the six-point gap behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.
