Bayern Munich are having second thoughts about signing Leroy Sané from Manchester City.

The 24-year-old winger was on the verge of switching clubs only for him to rupture the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the Community Shield clash with Liverpool in August.

That put the kibosh on the deal at that point.

It was understood, though, that the player would move to Bavaria at a suitable time once he had recovered full fitness.

According to Kicker, however, Bayern’s interest has waned.

Their change of mind is due in large part to Sané’s recent decision to switch agents.

This means that the terms of the deal that had been previously agreed must be renegotiated, which is a hassle the Bavarians are not keen to endure.

Kicker reports that the club’s hierarchy are now revisiting the idea of making a bid for RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner.

It is understood that Werner has a release clause of between €50m and €60m.

However, Bayern would have to beat Liverpool to the striker’s signature, and the Reds appear to have a head start on other interested parties.
