Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has confirmed midfielder Sebastian Rudy met with Schalke coach Domenico Tedesco.

The midfielder has been strongly linked with a summer move from the Allianz Arena though die Königsblauen have been quick to dismiss reports he had met the manager.

Sporting director Christian Heidel poured cold water on the speculation on Wednesday and insisted: “There hasn’t been any contact with Bayern Munich about [Rudy].

“Three or four months ago I was with Hasan Salihamidžić at a manager’s meeting. That’s when Rudy’s name was mentioned. There has been nothing since then.”

However, Salihamidžić has since dismissed Heidel’s claim and told Sport1 he had authorised a meeting between the player and manager, saying: “That’s okay, I allowed it”.

The 28-year-old, who has also been linked with RB Leipzig, started in Bayern’s friendly at Hamburg on Wednesday despite speculation surrounding his future.
