Bayern Munich are growing increasingly confident about their chances of luring Leroy Sané away from Manchester City this summer.

That’s according to The Mirror, who report on Tuesday that City boss Pep Guardiola is willing to allow Sané to leave three seasons after the winger moved from Schalke.

The 23-year-old moved to the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2016 for a fee reported to be in the region of £37m and he has won two Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FA Cup during his time in England.

Sané made 47 appearances in all competitions this season and scored 16 goals, but he struggled for starts towards the end of the campaign, prompting speculation Guardiola had lost patience with the German international.

He still has two years to run on his contract but Guardiola last week admitted the club have been trying for 18 months without success to convince him to extend.

“With Leroy, we are one-and-a-half years trying to sign his new contract,” the City boss told reporters.

“We want him — if you want to extend his contract, it’s because you want him. You’re not going to extend his contract because you don’t want him. It’s like [midfielder İlkay] Gündoğan, for example – it’s the same case.

“Some movements we have to do for next season, yes, because people want to leave and players want to play. They accept not playing for a [certain] period but when the period is long, it’s normal that they want to play more.”

German outlet Kicker recently reported that Sané would be interested in joining Bayern and the Bundesliga champions will be in the market for wide-men this summer following the departures of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry.

Meanwhile, The Mirror claim Guardiola would be happy to let the player return to his homeland if City can get their hands on Benfica starlet João Félix, who is reportedly valued at £105m.
