As Bayern ready themselves for their all-important Champions League round-of-16 tie against Liverpool, which will commence on 19 February, Niko Kovač and company have made a pair of changes to their Champions League team sheet.

Former Vancouver Whitecaps star Alphonso Davies and Bayern youth player Joshua Zirkzee have each been added to the squad in place of Sandro Wagner and Franck Evina.

Wagner was sold to Chinese side Tianjin TEDA for €5m, while the 18-year-old Evina joined second-tier Holstein Kiel on loan for the next 18 months.

Davies, 18, linked up with Bayern following the completion of the Major League Soccer season and has already made a pair of Bundesliga appearances off the bench.

Zirkzee, 17, is a centre-forward who has yet to make a senior appearance for Bayern, but has scored 15 goals and added six assists in 20 matches this season for Bayern’s various youth sides.
