Bayern are particularly attracted by Kruse’s versatility to play both striker and on the wing.

The 31-year-old scored 12 goals and contributed 14 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions this year as he helped lead Werder Bremen to an eighth-placed Bundesliga finish.

The 14-time German international is available on a free transfer as his contract expires this summer.
