Inter Milan are interested in taking Arturo Vidal on a season-long loan from Barcelona.

That’s a claim made by FcInterNews, who report that Inter have received a positive response to the proposal from Barça, and Vidal himself would be open to the move.

The Chilean midfielder came close to joining the Nerazzurri last summer before ultimately swapping Bayern Munich for Camp Nou.

But he now has even more motivation to move to Milan given he would be reunited with his former Juventus boss Antonio Conte.

“I would follow him everywhere, even in war,” Vidal was once quoted as saying about Conte and with Frenkie de Jong joining the Blaugrana this summer, the 32-year-old may have a better chance of regular football at San Siro.

However, Vidal still has two years left to run on his contract and speaking after Sunday’s Joan Gamper Trophy victory over Arsenal, Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde insisted the experienced midfielder still has a part to play at the club.

“He is a player who is a fighter, who was getting better and better in the last year and helped us a lot,” Valverde told reporters.

“And this year, it is true that there is more competition. What are we going to do? That’s how it is. Each player will fight for his position.”
