Barcelona are on the hunt for a striker to bolster their forward options this month and have reportedly set their sights on Girona star Cristhian Stuani.
Stuani has been in stunning form this season, and despite his veteran status, scored an impressive 12 goals in LaLiga.
Valverde is thought to be in the market for a reliable goalscorer who would be happy to play second-fiddle to Luis Suárez.
And Catalan paper Sport insist that the 32-year-old Uruguayan is that man, with Barça willing to pay his release clause of €15m.
Stuani has already turned down offers from China as he wants to stay in Europe, and is believed to be thrilled at the prospect of moving to Camp Nou.
