Several important figures at Barcelona put their six-hour plane trip to Saudi Arabia to good use.
The Spanish champions boarded a chartered flight on Tuesday to head east for their Supercopa de España defence.
RAC1 report that a great deal of the journey was spent attempting to convince midfielder Arturo Vidal not to leave this month.
The Chilean has been closely linked with a move to Inter and his agent was in Italy earlier this week to discuss a potential deal.
But amid games of parcheesi with Jordi Alba, Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez, that trio as well as club president Josep Maria Bartomeu discussed Vidal’s future with the player.
They all tried to change the former Juventus man’s mind about moving on from the Camp Nou over frustration about his use this season.
The story even goes on to state that the pleas from his friends and employers may have worked as Vidal is slowly warming to the idea of staying put.
He was apparently receptive to the messages and it is now being assumed that he will in fact remain in the Catalan capital.
Vidal is a very popular figure among the rest of the players, while the club also feel that Inter’s apparent €12m offer is too low.
