Barcelona have reportedly had a second bid for Boca Juniors defender Leonardo Balerdi rejected by the Argentinian giants.
Ernesto Valverde’s side are thought to be on the hunt for long-term defensive options, having seen Yerry Mina leave over the summer and with Gerard Piqué not getting any younger.
The Camp Nou side have focus their attentions on the South American market as they see that as the last place where you can get true value in the market.
But AS have revealed that Barça’s formal bid for the 19-year-old has been laughed out the building by Boca.
The reigning Liga champions are believed to have offered €5m for the young centre-back, and included a loan option that would have seen him go back to Buenos Aires for the remainder of the season.
That though, has been rejected with Boca believed to value Balerdi at somewhere close to €20m.
The deadline for Spanish clubs to sign players this summer ends on Friday.
