Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has conceded that the club will listen to their members and backtrack on plans for a redesign of their badge.

The Camp Nou side’s Socios were furious last month when the board unveiled the proposed new logo.

There was a slight change to the famous red and yellow stripes of Catalunya whilst the letters ‘FCB’ were missing completely.

And now the Blaugrana’s leader has revealed that they will listen to their members and have decided not to go ahead with the new crest.

“I want to explain to everyone that the evolution of the badge is a way of adapting to new technologies,” he told Radio Catalunta.

“After listening to the socios I understand the need to revise the plans because it was not accepted by the socios, which is why I removed it from the order of the day.

“After listening to the members, I decided some internal reflexion was needed and to leave it for the future. It was as simple as removing an issue because it wasn’t accepted. There will be some reflexion. FCB will continue to be on the badge, that’s clear.”
