The latest name to reportedly be added to Barcelona’s long list of summer transfer targets is Monaco youngster Thomas Lemar.

The 22-year-old has long been linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 club, with reports as early as last summer suggesting that the midfielder was on his way to Arsenal.

It was claimed at the time that the Gunners had pulled out of a deal at the last minute due to the Principality outfit asking for a fee in excess of €100m.

Lemar duly stayed with Leonardo Jardim’s side and played 30 of their 34 domestic matches in 2017/18.

He’s stayed on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, and Catalan daily Sport understands that Barça are keen on signing the France international.

When quizzed on the possibility of joining the Blaugrana on Wednesday, Lemar is quoted as saying: “This topic isn’t relevant at all. I’m only focused on the national team and the World Cup. Everything else which isn’t relevant doesn’t interest me at the moment.”

A bid however, could be forthcoming from Ernesto Valverde’s men, with the paper suggesting that they could lodge an initial offer of €70m.
