Atlético Madrid will use any potential moneyfrom the sale of Diego Costa to make a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

That’s according to a story in Le10 Sport on Friday which claims that the Spanish giants are targeting the Uruguay international as a replacement for Costa.

The former Chelsea striker re-joined Atleti last season and played a key role in their Europa League triumph in May.

However this term the 30-year-old has struggled for form and netted just one goal in 11 LaLiga appearances.

Their report indicates that the club are touting Costa around the Chinese Super League and are hoping to recoup around €70m.

If successful, they will then use that money to make a move for Cavani when the window opens next month.

With Neymar and Kylian Mbappé taking most of the limelight in the French capital it’s thought that Cavani is looking for a way out and wants to try and take his talents to Spain.
