Atlético Madrid midfielder Rodrigo has reportedly told the club he wants to leave this summer.
Manchester City have recently been linked with the midfielder, who has a €70m release clause.
Spanish journalist José Ramón de la Morena has told El Transistor that Rodrigo has informed Atlético of his desire to leave.
Atlético signed the midfielder from Villarreal for just €20m last summer.
The 22-year-old has instantly become a crucial member of Diego Simeone’s side, starting 26 of 31 LaLiga games so far this season.
No Atlético player has completed more passes (1376) or won more tackles (90) than Rodri in the league this season and that form has captured the attention of Manchester City.
With Fernandinho turning 34 next month, the Premier League club need a long-term replacement at the base of midfield.
Rodrigo could perfectly fit the bill.
