Atlético Madrid have reportedly found their replacement for Antoine Griezmann, with Edinson Cavani identified as their primary target.
Griezmann confirmed earlier this month that he would be leaving the Rojiblancos after five years in the capital.
And now according to a story in the Spanish press, Diego Simeone has ear-marked Cavani as his main main to club officials.
Cadena SER believe that Cavani is keen on a move to the Wanda Metropolitano but the deal will be down to Paris Saint-Germain’s asking price.
PSG would only be willing to lose one of Neymar, Kylian Mbappé and Cavani this summer, and could well see the Brazilian leave for Barcelona.
If that were the case, then Cavani would be forced to remain at the Parc des Princes for at least another year.
The Uruguay international was consistency personified this past season, netting 23 goals in 33 appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s men.
