Atlético Madrid confirm signing of Álvaro Morata

Atlético Madrid have officially confirmed the permanent signing of Chelsea striker Álvaro Morata.

Morata joined Atleti on an 18-month loan in January and will finalise his transfer to the club on July 1, 2020.

Chelsea threatened to recall the 26-year-old due to their two-window transfer ban, which forced Los Rojiblancos into making a decision on the player.

An official transfer fee has not been disclosed but various outlets are claiming somewhere in the region of €55m.

Morata scored 24 goals in 72 appearances at Stamford Bridge, before netting six in 17 appearances for Atleti.
