The summer rebuild at Atlético Madrid has led to the need to move some players on in order to add any more new faces.

Among the big names to arrive at the Wanda Metropolitano are João Félix, Marcos Llorente, Hector Herrera, Mario Hermoso and Kieran Trippier.

Antoine Griezmann, Rodri, Lucas Hernandez, Diego Godin, Juanfran and Filipe Luís have all moved the other way but they likely won’t be the last to do so.

MARCA report that Atlético want one more major arrival and subsequently a departure, with Angel Correa the likely sacrificial lamb.

The story states that the Rojiblancos are still keen on either James Rodríguez or Christian Eriksen but must sell first.

While out-of-favour Croatian forward Nikola Kalinić is also a potential sale candidate, his value is some way short of that of Correa.

Although coach Diego Simeone likes his compatriot and believes he can be a useful squad player, the player himself is frustrated at his lack of regular playing time.

As a result, it is being considered a good move for all parties if they can find a buyer to meet the club’s €50m asking price.

However, it is also noted that should the club’s plans to sign either Rodríguez or Eriksen fall through, the Argentine will be staying put in the Spanish capital.
