Atlético Madrid are reportedly facing potential stadium closure after chants of ‘Griezmann die’ were aimed at their former player against Barcelona.

Griezmann joined Barça for €110m this summer, and Saturday’s 1-0 win was his first time back at the Wanda Metropolitano since leaving the capital.

The referees report also mentioned that objects were thrown onto the pitch, including an umbrella that was thrown while Barça celebrated Lionel Messi’s 86th minute winner.

Griezmann’s plaque outside the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, in honour of him playing more than 100 games for the club, was defaced with graffiti and toy rats prior to kick-off.
