Atlético Madrid could reportedly terminate the loan of Álvaro Morata this summer to avoid paying Chelsea an extra €15m.

Morata joined the club in January – initially on an 18-month loan deal – and has scored six goals in 16 appearances.

According to SPORT, Atlético are unconvinced by the 26-year-old and believe their money could be better spent elsewhere.

Despite struggling at Chelsea, Morata could be welcomed back to Stamford Bridge after FIFA rejected their transfer ban appeal.

Gonzalo Higuaín hasn’t reached the heights expected of him and Olivier Giroud looks set to return to France, leaving Maurizio Sarri light in attack.

An official decision is expected to be made after the Europa League final on May 29.
