Two of the hottest teams in MLS faced each other in a clash that saw the New York Red Bulls stun Atlanta United 3-1 with Bradley Wright-Phillips’ brace.

The MLS leader took the lead in the first half with Ezequiel Barco’s third goal of the season.

But a fierce reaction from New York started with a goal from Daniel Royer from the penalty spot.

Early in the second half, Alejandro ‘Kaku’ Romero Gamarra built a couple plays that Bradley Wright-Phillips netted.

Greg Garza was ejected in the 71st minute and the Five Stripes chances of a comeback vanished even more.

Despite the win, the Red Bulls ended up worried about Kemar Lawrence. The Jamaican footballer left the pitch unconscious and was directly taken to a hospital.

With the three goals scored on Sunday night, the Red Bulls are the team with the most goals in the season with 26, and Wright-Phillips got himself into the top scorer’s table first place along with Atlanta’s Josef Martínez and Columbus’ Gyasi Zardes.
