Aston Villa will go toe-to-toe with West Ham in order to sign Coventry City youngster Tom Bayliss.
Bayliss has been linked with a move away from Coventry in the last three windows and, according to several reports out of England, the 20-year-old will finally leave the club this summer.
Liverpool and Leeds are amongst a number of teams that have also been recently linked to the central midfielder, who is said to be available for £3m.
Though there has been a lot of discussion over his future destination, Coventry chief executive Dave Boddy confirmed there has yet to be a concrete offer for the England U-19 international.
“We haven’t had any inquiries or bids as yet but there’s been lots of speculation.”
After guiding Coventry to promotion to League One in 2018, Bayliss helped lead the Sky Blues to an eighth-placed finish.
