Aston Villa have fallen short in their efforts to land a very talented centre-back.

According to Sky Sports, the Villains have seen a £12m bid for Bristol City’s Adam Webster rejected just one year after the Robins purchased the player from Ipswich for £3.5m.

Various reports state Bristol City are seeking closer to £30m for Webster, who made 43 Championship starts last season, and aren’t in any hurry to let him go as his contract expires in 2022.

Webster was spectacular for the Championship side and scooped both the club’s Player of the Year awards.

Everton, Burnley, Leicester City, Newcastle United, Southampton, and Watford have also been linked to the 24-year-old.
