Porto striker Moussa Marega has once again been linked to a surprise move to Aston Villa, but only if they win promotion to the Premier League.

According to Portuguese outlet Correio da Manhã, Porto refuse to sell the 28-year-old striker unless his €40m release clause is met.

The Mali international has been spectacular, scoring 19 goals in addition to his 11 assists this season, including an impressive six goals and three assists in nine Champions League contests.

Marega is under contract at the club until 2021 and renewed his contract back in September.

Aston Villa were believed to have had interest in the striker last season while they were in pursuit of an immediate return to the Premier League.

With Tammy Abraham widely believed to be returning to Chelsea after his loan spell is over, Villa are in desperate need of a top striker next season and are widely linked to Brentford’s Neal Maupay.
