A pair of newly-promoted Premier League sides have their sights set on Senegal international goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

That’s according to a report out of L’Equipe, who state that both Aston Villa and Norwich are keen on capturing the 27-year-old after a very impressive Ligue 1 campaign.

Mendy played every single minute in his third season at Reims, earning a whopping 14 clean sheets as he helped lead his side to an eighth-placed finish.

Aston Villa just inked Jed Steer to an extension until 2023 last week, while Norwich may be looking to upgrade from Tim Krul after he allowed 57 goals in 46 games – a record-worst mark for a Championship-winning side.

Marseille, Rennes, and Montpellier are also said to be interested in Mendy, who featured for Senegal in their 2-0 victory to kick off their AFCON campaign.
