The Portuguese defender has deputised for injured captain Antonio Valencia
Ashley Young has praised Diogo Dalot following his impressive introduction to first team football at Manchester United.
Dalot – a €20m summer signing from Porto – arrived at Old Trafford as an unknown quantity but has already made an impact.
Young believes the teenager should be praised for his attitude and that he believes more opportunities will come over a busy Christmas period.
“As soon as he arrived, he was injured so it took some time to get over that but this is an easy place to settle into,” he told the club’s official website.
“The team spirit we’ve got is fantastic. I’ve always said it. I think it’s more the press and journalists who say it’s not right, but the team bond is brilliant.
“For a young kid to come in and play like he’s been here for years has been fantastic. It’s great to see such a young kid get up and down the pitch the way he did.”
United face a crucial week in their season, travelling to Valencia on Wednesday before facing Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
