Eden Hazard may not be leaving Chelsea this summer after all, at least in the opinion of former defender Ashley Cole.
The pair were team-mates at Stamford Bridge prior to the Englishman’s 2014 move to Roma.
Although the Belgium international has been strongly linked to Real Madrid, Cole expects him to remain in London.
Speaking on Sky Sports, the Derby County man outlined his reasoning for seeing Hazard stay put.
“Chelsea have to keep him and I don’t see why he’d want to leave,” Cole said.
“The club loves him and he loves the club. I hope he stays and I think he will to be honest.
“I know how much he adores the club and everyone loves him. I think he should stay.”
The 28-year-old has been with the Blues since 2012, when he arrived from Lille.
