Jack Wilshere has responded to being left out of England’s 2018 World Cup – by agreeing to go on a lads holiday with one of his followers.
Gareth Southgate announced his 23-man squad on Wednesday and the Gunners midfielder was left out despite playing regularly for Arsenal this season.
According to the Mirror, Wilshere received the bad news from the Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate on Tuesday morning.
After the news emerged, one follower tweeted Wilshere and said: “Oright lad i know you’re not off world cup so fancy coming Zante with me and the lads let me know sound x.”
The midfielder brilliantly responded: “Let me know the dates and I’m in.”
Will Palacios, the man who tweeted Wilshere, then responded: “17th june – 26th COME ON!!!”
The 26-year-old was forced to withdraw from the last England squad for friendlies against Italy and Holland, and Southgate reportedly believes he cannot take the risk.
It will be a bitter blow for Wilshere who loves playing for England and will now use the summer to rest and get ready for next season.
Uncertainty still remains over the midfielder’s Arsenal future with his contract expiring this summer and a new one yet to be signed.
