According to Mirror Football, the Gunners have ‘set aside’ €50m for his signing as they anticipate competition from Bayern Munich.

Havertz has repeatedly named Mesut Özil as his footballing idol which could be a key factor when persuading the teenager to join.

Özil has been told by Unai Emery to find a new club this summer, but insists he will not be forced out and is happy in North London.

The futures of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Danny Welbeck are also uncertain, with Denis Suárez likely to return to Barcelona after his loan expires.
