Arsenal and Leicester are ready to do battle for rising Rennes star Ismaïla Sarr this summer.

Sarr has attracted attention from clubs all over Europe this season after netting 12 times and assisting a further 11 goals.

The Gunners reportedly made contact with the 21-year-old after their Europa League clash in March with the French side believed to be holding out for €25m.

A source close to the player told the Daily Mail that Leicester and Borussia Dortmund were also monitoring the attacker but that Arsenal were in pole position for Sarr.

The player is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League and believes his pacy, direct style of play will suit the English top division.

Arsenal will likely be looking for an attacker during the off-season, following the news that Danny Welbeck will leave the club after five years.
