If you’re an Arsenal fan and you’re planning on following the team on their quest for Europa League glory this season – good luck.

Having drawn Ukrainian side Vorskla Poltava, there was hope that European football’s governing body could potentially move their home games to a more accessible destination.

With poor transport links, Poltava is an extremely difficult city to get to as a visiting supporter, and there were suggestions that the Gunners could potentially request a venue change.

That though, has been denied by Uefa who claim that there no plans to move any of Vorskla Poltava’s games.

That means Arsenal fans must negotiate a long-winded journey on November 29, just three days before the first north London derby of the season.

Poltava has an airport but it’s not possible to fly there from London on a commercial airline.

Supporters must therefore fly to Kyiv or Kharkiv and get a train. That is also difficult however, with trains infrequent and accommodation also scarce.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will offer fans who plan on making the 3,400-mile trip any sort of subsidy.
