Ivan Gazidis’ Arsenal departure has been confirmed by the north London club on Tuesday.
The 53-year-old has been with the Gunners for a decade but has decided to leave for AC Milan.
Raul Sanllehi, formerly of Barcelona, has been named Arsenal’s head of football. Sanllehi was previously head of football relations at the Emirates Stadium.
The business side of Gazidis’ role has been passed on to Vinai Venkatesham, who has been promoted from chief commercial officer to managing director.
Chairman Sir Chips Keswick said: “Ivan has led Arsenal with skill and dedication and leaves us in a strong position. The club has been transformed and he has recruited talented people, such as Raul, Vinai and of course Unai Emery, who will take us to future success.”
Gazidis will join AC Milan on 1st December.
