Antoine Griezmann will not report for Atlético Madrid training when the squad return for pre-season on Sunday.

The Frenchman was due to join the rest of his teammates at Atleti’s training ground this weekend for the first day back since their summer break.

However according to both AS and Cadena SER, Griezmann will not be present, with his lawyer instructing the club that the striker is suffering from ’emotional stress’.

They say that the forward has sent a letter to Atleti, via his lawyer, claiming that he won’t be returning to training this weekend citing stress following the delay to his move to Barcelona.

It was thought that the World Cup winner would be moving to Camp Nou on July 1 when his release clause decreased to €120m.

However Barça and Atleti are locked in a dispute over how the money will be paid.

Atleti want it all now, Barcelona want to pay in instalments.

As such, Griezmann is still technically an Atleti and is expected to turn up for training.

That won’t be happening though, with the capital now ready to fine the 28-year-old for as long as he is not at training.
