Southampton goalkeeper Angus Gunn has tipped summer signing Che Adams to excel in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old striker is one of three new arrivals at St Mary’s this summer having joined in a £15m move from Birmingham City last month.
And though Gunn admits Saints haven’t been as busy in the transfer market as they could have been, he’s backing Adams to be be a big success.
“We’ve not been as busy as other teams in the transfer market but we’ve brought in really good quality,” Gunn told the Southern Daily Echo.
“Che’s been massive in pre-season… he’ll be a huge player for us, he fits into the squad and the manager’s style of play really well.
“We have great attacking quality with different options for the manager… it’s been a good pre-season all in all… hopefully we can carry that on into the season.”
Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side will be hoping to improve on last season’s 16th placed finish in the new campaign, starting with Saturday’s trip to Burnley.
