After rupturing his Achilles last season, not many were sure if Andriy Yarmolenko could find the form that convinced West Ham to shell out €20m for his services in summer 2018.

However, the Ukraine international has been sensational, scoring three times in eight Premier League contests and notched the winner to defeat Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal to clinch Ukraine’s place in Euro 2020.

As a precaution, Yarmolenko was limited to just 45 minutes during their defeat at Everton last weekend, but the 30-year-old insists he’s fully fit.

“I am always ready to play but it’s the manager who decides who will play, of course. I will try to show him next week I’m ready and, of course, if I play I’ll give 100% for a good result.”

West Ham started the Premier League campaign in sizzling form, but the Hammers have since earned just a single point from their past three games after being embarrassed in their 4-0 EFL Cup defeat at Oxford United.

Yarmolenko is aware West Ham were far from their best at Goodison Park and has challenged his side to take their game to another level.

“We must sit and think about our game,” he told whufc.com. “Everyone must think about his game because this is the English Premier League and we must change our mentality and fight for every ball because on Saturday, we played so, so badly.

“I think we must dig deeper because we weren’t aggressive and we really played badly.

“We must analyse this game and next week we play at home and we must show our fans we want to fight for the result for this club.”
