Aleix García will re-join Girona FC for their pre-season after spending the 2017-18 campaign on loan with the Catalan side.

One of several young players to take advantage of the City Football Group’s loan system, the Spain U21 midfielder is in position to break-through in 2018-19.

The former Villarreal youth player is likely to get more consistent playing time in the upcoming season, with a chance to prove himself to recently appointed manager Eusebio Sacristán.

García hopes to follow in the footsteps of Spanish right-back Pablo Maffeo who improved over two loan spells at Girona before earning a permanent move to VfB Stuttgart.

The 21-year old central midfielder will look to better his 20 league appearances and single free kick goal from last term. He has joined up with the club at the start of their pre-season in order to hit the ground running in La Liga.
