The leading goalscorer in the 2019 Apertura said that he was supposed to have talks with with Director of Football Ricardo Peláez and manager Luis Fernando Tena.

However, he maintains that such discussions failed to happen.

“I never talked to Peláez and Tena to tell me if they had me in their plans,” Pulido said.

“I didn’t want to leave Chivas. I was the scorer. There was a pending talk and it never took place. They said I wanted more money and that was not the case.”

Pulido was singing a different tune back in December when his move to Sporting KC was announced.

“The reality is I’m happy. I love the team [Chivas], but I feel like I’ve completed all the dreams I had here,” he told reporters at that time.

Sporting KC open their campaign with a trip to face Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, February 29.
