Alan Cervantes is just 21 years old and has only featured in the Chivas first-team for a total of 23 games, but already has huge ambitions of one day playing in Europe.
The defensive midfielder was a part of the CONCACAF Champions League-winning squad last year and is eyeing more silverware with the Mexican giants before his potential departure.
“There is quality, Chivas is one of the most important clubs in the country,” he said.
“Because of this, It’s difficult for Chivass to give many opportunities to young players, but there is a lot of quality here.
“Hopefully in the future I continue to grow and one day migrate to Europe. But right now, what matters is the game this weekend.
“I will continue to grow, give joy to Chivas supporters and later become a star so I can go to Europe.”
Cervantes has started each of their last two Liga MX contests – his first league starts since the end of the 2018 Apertura.
