In January, Ryan Babel returned to Ajax from Galatasaray for his third spell with the Dutch outfit in hopes of impressing enough to earn a place in the Netherlands squad for this summer’s (now postponed) Euros.
However, Babel’s influence has been minimal, scoring just a single goal in nine appearances, with the lone strike coming against Vitesse in the KNVB Cup.
Babel has since been sidelined with a calf injury and, given how he was unable to help Ajax make any sort of Europa League run, Turkish newspaper Sabah claim that Ajax will not seek to make his loan move permanent.
Should Babel return to Turkey, the Süper Lig side will not look to keep him due to current financial issues and will hope to sell the 33-year-old to either China or Qatar.
Babel, who arrived from Fulham on a free transfer over the summer, is currently under contract at Galatasaray until summer 2022.
