André Onana is all but certain to leave Ajax this summer, and the Dutch club are working on lining up a replacement.
The goalkeeper was heavily linked with a move away last summer, but ultimately ended up staying in Amsterdam.
However, according to a Dutch journalist, the Cameroon international is in his last months with the defending Eredivisie champions.
Speaking on the Pantelic Podcast, Freek Jansen of the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper said: “I know that they have been working on a successor for Onana for some time now. It is a regular item on the meetings.
“With [Edwin] van der Sar, of course, they have someone who knows a lot about goalkeepers and who is well aware of the attractive goalkeepers who are walking around at the moment.
“And with [Carlo] l’Ami, Ajax has a goalkeeper coach who has been around for a long time and does good things.
“He has had an important voice in attracting Jasper Cillessen and Onana.”
Chelsea and Barcelona have been linked with a move for 23-year-old Onana in the past.
With over two years left on his contract, Ajax will be in a strong position to command top dollar for their star stopper.
